Epiphany have over 30 years of experience in the world of dog showing.
I started junior handling at the age of 8 with the help of my great aunt who showed Airdales and Kerry Blues, and I then got my own show dogs at the tender age of 16.
My first show dogs were Dobermans and Rottweilers which i had for several years before moving to a completely different breed which was Akitas.
I have had Akitas now for 18 years and have had great success showing them.
My ambition was to maintain the true Japanese colours which i have managed to do in my breeding, and all of my dogs are bred for temprement and health.
I fell in love with Chinese Crested as a teenager and so when my daughter Deanna wanted to show there was only really one choice, and as I am getting older now I find them alot easier to show than the Akitas.
Nick on the other hand did not take up showing until more recently, however he and his family have had Irish Setters from the early 80's
Our First Crested came into our family in 2003, and from that point we were in love, we were warned at the time that Chinese Cresteds were collectable that once you have one you just have to have another, then another, then another.
Were are now upto 7 cresteds and Nick has vowed that there will be no more, but we shall see!
Mazie was our first Crested and from here we have had 2 litters of puppies, the first litter we didn't keep anything from as we felt at the time we had our hands full with the Akitas.
We then decided at the last litter we would keep 1 maybe 2 of that litter to which we did, Epiphany Zirnitra(see photo above) or Rambo as he is known as his pet name was made up to his Junior Warrant at just 9 months and 21 days old(that is just three months of showing), which also gains him his studbook number and qualifies him for Crufts for life.
Many people have asked us about the unusual name of our kennel, and so i have added the meaning taken straight from the dictionary
e·piph·a·ny (ĭ-pĭf'ə-nē)
Epiphany
1. A revelatory manifestation of a divine being.
Which I think describes our dogs to a tee!
